The ever consistent Nick O'Hern had his best finish of the season with a third at the Travelers Championship. This pushed him 29 spots in the FedEx race from 71st to 42nd, 26 places on the money list to 39 with $1,208,465 and 1 position to number 24 in the official world rankings. Nick also leads in third round scoring average at 68.38.

The third round has concluded at the Standford St. Jude Championship and Aussie Adam Scott has retained his lead. If Scott takes it out tomorrow it will a wire to wire win! You couldn't ask for a better lead into the US Open starting next week. He would also join Tiger, Phil, Vijay and Zach as the multiple winners on the tour this year. Adam Scott's last win just happened to be the lead up tournament to the previous major The Masters. Hopefully he will get a better result this time around.

On the other end of the scale, defending US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy may wish he stayed home to practice this week. Geoff failed to make the cut after an opening 78 put him well behind the eight ball.

The PGA Tour have announced Melbourne will again host the Presidents Cup in 2011. I'm looking forward to watching the worlds best playing here in my home town.

From a last round 80 last week to winning the Shell Houston Open this week. That's a pretty impressive turn around for Adam Scott continuing the great form of the Aussies leading into the Masters. Adam battled another Australian and deffending champion Stuart Appelby up to the 72nd hole. So it's good signs with both players are peaking at the right time. Adam is the second Aussie to win this year, the other being Aaron Baddeley. As of April there are four Aussies in the top ten in the FedExCup Points race. Between last week and this week there have been six Aussies in the top ten placings. So things are looking great for the first major of the year. Bring it on!

My pick for the Masters is Badds. Badds has been in great form this year. He hits the ball good distance and he's a great putter. The way he putts reminds me of watching young children putt, before they start over analysing. No mucking around, just stand up and knock it in the hole. I have a hunch this attitude extends to the rest of his game. Just look at the way he handled to two Australian Opens. I reckon if he's playing well he will have the mental strength to hang on for his first major.
