Mark Logic a company I have been admiring from afar, have
released version 4 of their XML Content Platform, MarkLogic Server. As you would expect being a major release there is lots of new toys to play with. The line that really caught my eye was
"geospatial services for location-aware search and analytics"
Location aware apps seem to be an
emerging trend. Companies such as Yahoo! with
Fire Eagle and
Geo Planet are positioning themselves to get a slice of the pie. It will be interesting to observe which killer location aware apps emerge. Who knows, they might just be built on top of MarkLogic Server.
